Native blackthorn. Dark, almost black, bark, deciduous; small white flowers appear early spring, before leaves; plum-like fruits in autumn (sloes). Moist but well-drained soil, full sun, exposed or sheltered locations. Full height 3+m if left unpruned. Excellent for wildlife.
